In recent years, Africa has witnessed a silent epidemic: the rise of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and chronic respiratory illnesses. These health issues, often overlooked compared to infectious diseases, are now leading causes of death on the continent.
𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕’𝒔 𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔?
Lifestyle changes, poor nutrition, urbanization, and limited access to preventive healthcare.

3️⃣ Improved drug formulations and technology are addressing affordability and accessibility.
As a Biochemist and Pharmaceutical Technologist, I believe Africa holds untapped resources—our rich biodiversity and scientific minds can lead the way in combating NCDs. Through continuous research and innovation, we can not only address these health challenges but also redefine healthcare for future generations.
